Favourite pose?

Natarajasana (Dancer’s) – it offers me that feeling of freedom and expansion and so beautifully counteracts the usual slumping and forward bending of day-to-day life.

Why did you start doing yoga?

I started to notice the difference between how I felt when I was in a state of yoga and how other parts of my life were set up for high stress, over-productivity, and perfectionism. Practicing yoga helped me tap into my greater sense of purpose and light a fire within me to support others in discovering this feeling, too.

Why did you become a teacher?

After experiencing more calmness and balance in my own life—and so much more—I wanted to share it with others. Yoga helps me stay grounded and present, releases tension, and helps me through challenging things in my life!

How do you describe your teaching style?

Warm and welcoming, with a little humour and light-hearted banter sprinkled in the mix. My flow classes include plenty of reminders to check in with the breath and invitations for students to notch their practice up or down to suit their needs on any given day.

What has yoga taught you?

How to cultivate greater presence, a clearer mind and how to offer self-compassion without expectation.

What do you want students to know?

They don’t have to follow the script of the class – there is always an invitation for students to make choices that serve their needs on that particular day. For some, this means taking stronger options—for others, it means taking the extra child’s pose or rest even when it’s not specifically offered by the teacher. The feeling of truly meeting yourself where you are is incredibly empowering.
