Favourite pose?
Gosh, so many! I’d say Camatkarasana (Wild Thing) – I love that it’s a challenge and that it’s a back bend without doing a full back bend. I enjoy the full front body stretch, being slightly upside down (which changes my perspective) and when done slowly with control, to me, it feels graceful and feminine.
Why did you start doing yoga?
So many reasons! When I started many years ago, it was for exercise and an opportunity to start something new. As the years have progressed, my practice and my reasons for practising have evolved. I practice for physical, mental and emotional healing/well-being, to regulate my nervous system, and now I find yoga a place where I deeply connect with myself.
Why did you become a teacher?
I wanted to know more about Yoga, the history, the philosophy, the Sanskrit, so I began my teacher training. I always feel the benefit of practising yoga. I’ve had some very amazing and inspiring yoga teachers and mentors throughout the years, I’ve truly been blessed that way. I admired the way they taught yoga as well as how they lived it off their mat. I’m lucky to now be able to share what I know with others.
How do you describe your teaching style?
Simple, calm and inclusive.
What has yoga taught you?
So much! To listen within. To be okay with who I am and how I show up on my mat and in life.
